Despite Opera’s excellent standards’ support I discovered a couple of problems this browser encounters on my site.

The select and optgroup elements

In forms with select and optgroup elements the drop-down list repeats each optgroup several times. This error can be found on the following pages:

Page Freezing

Huge tables styled by large stylesheets make the browser utilize 100% CPU, even after page rendering is finished, on mouse movement. This behaviour is not restricted to older machines, even on a 64bit/2200MHz/1GB RAM machine freezing occurs. The pages in question:

• 4096 Symmetrical Number Pairs
• Percentage Colour Values
• Example of 3564 HSL-Coded Colours
• The 216 Standard Colours
• Colour Names for HTML/CSS and their RGB Values
• Character Encoding using Named Entities
