Colour Test Page

Colours in webpages are used for different reasons, e.g. to increase legibility, to highlight important parts or just to implement some design. However, you should keep in mind that too many colours result in a restive appearance of the whole page and certain colour combinations are hardly legible, especially for people with visual deficiencies, as the following example shows:

Demonstration of Visual Deficiencies
Blindness Impairment
Protanopia Protanomaly
Deuteranopia Deuteranomaly
Tritanopia Tritanomaly
Monochromacy anomalous Monochromacy

The following interface allows you to check your desired colour combination. For a list of possible colours have a look at the colour charts or use a popupcolorpicker applet.

If you want to experiment with fonts as well you should use the exact name. The fonts installed on your system are usually stored in C:\WINDOWS\FONTS (Windows 95/98) or C:\WINNT\Fonts (Windows NT/2000/XP) respectively or /usr/share/fonts/ (Linux).

When having changed the settings a field shows the CSS inline-style attributes being used, which you can easily copy and paste into your own source code.
