Improved PNG Behavior
[EN] Andrew Gregory
Sometime around August/September in 2003 I became aware of Erik Arvidsson’s PNG Behavior technique to allow Internet Explorer to support alpha-transparent PNG graphics. I (and many others) thought it was fabulous, however, there were some things I didn’t like: It needed an external GIF file. PNG images would not appear in the print preview or on printouts. [I don’t know if this issue only affects me or not - I’ve never heard of any complaints about this]. I occasionally saw a Javascript error related to the non-initialisation of the realSrc variable. [I’ve never heards of any complaints about this, either]It has no effect on PNG images in style sheets.
