Dithered Backgrounds

The following chart shows all 136 possible colour combinations of two of the 16 VGA colours as dithered backgrounds. The images used to produce these backgrounds have the following properties:

Size :: 2x2 pixel
Number of Colours:: 2
Colour Depth :: 1bit per pixel
Palette :: 2 colours
Resolution :: 96x96 DPI
File Format :: png
File Size :: 108 byte

The dithering effect allows to present the illusion of intermediate colours on low resolution monitors. Notice that only sixteen colours are used in this chart to produce the illusion of 136 colours. A bug in older versions of the Opera browsers lead to actually mixing each two dithered colours to result in a single intermediate colour.
